Coromandel Forest Park - Coromandel Peninsula region

Coromandel Forest Park

...
A world away from the hustle and bustle of Auckland City is the Coromandel Pensinula with its beaches and forests. The Coromandel Forest Park covers the peninsula, almost from coast to coast, with luxuriant rainforest providing many opportunities for challenging hikes. The Kauaeranga Valley near Thames is one of the more popular areas in the park. Just to the south is the Broken Hills range of jagged limestone outcrops. To the north, Mt Moehau represents a challenging hike that is rewarded with magnificent views of the Hauraki Gulf.
