Grampian Villa and CottageNelson, Nelson, Nelson City
description
Built in 1895 as the home of headmaster, botanist and arts supporter F.G. Gibbs, Grampian Villa is a two-storey Victorian villa. Just across the road is Grampian Cottage, built in 1910. Both are located on a tree-lined street on the lower slopes of The Grampian hills, five minutes' walk to the Nelson City Centre. The Villa's spacious deluxe guestrooms have French doors opening to verandahs with views to the city and sea. Native timbers are used extensively.
A varied and healthy gourmet breakfast is served on the villa verandah or in the guest dining room overlooking the English garden. A continental breakfast is served to Grampian Cottage guests. John and Jo (a qualified chef ) are keen “foodies” and offer a range of evening dining options by arrangement.
