    Waiheke Island - Car Hire

    Waiheke Island is larger than many travelers think and a vehicle is very handy. It's possible to take your own car by ferry but there are heaps of car and scooter rentals on the island. It's easy to locate a hire centre as soon as you get off the ferry.

    Great Barrier Ferry

    Sealink operate a ferry to Great Barrier Island which takes cars and passengers. The ferry departs from Wynyard Wharf in Central Auckland and takes about 4.5 hours. It leaves 3-5 times a week depending on the season.

    QBE Stadium (formerly North Harbour Stadium)

    The 25,000-seat stadium ‚Äčis in the 23-hectare North Shore Domain. Seats in the main stadium are accessed through eight entry gates that surround the stadium field. Parking is limited.

    Auckland Museum on the Domain

    The Memorial Museum on the Domain is one of Auckland's most beautiful, original buildings. There is an array of exhibits both traditional and interactive. Admission is free but a donation is appreciated.

    North Head Historic Reserve

    The North Head Historical Reserve is considered to be the most significant historical coastal defence site in New Zealand and is one of the oldest of approximately 50 old volcanoes in Auckland. There are heaps of old bunkers and other war ruins with tracks for walking and cycling all over it.
