
Whangarei Falls are impressive 27m all year round waterfalls. There are walking tracks up the river from the city center and picnic areas with safe swimming holes.

The picturesque town of Russell is accessed by car ferry which departs from Opua near Paihia. The ferry operates all day every day and is capable of all sizes of vehicles.

The 144 islands that make up the Bay of Islands are very cool. The most impressive of them is Motukokako Island at the end of Cape Brett Peninsular. It's where the Hole in The Rock is. You can take half day tours out there via the other islands.

Mangawhai Heads is well known for it's beach, surfing and fishing, but not everyone knows that it has one of New Zealand's best golf courses. It was ranked in the top 7 last year.

Just before you enter Kerikeri township you come accross this wonderfully restored packhouse, which has been turned into a space specifically for a Saturday market. Kerikeri is known for its artisan culture and there is a wide range of quality local products. The market is open every Saturday from 8am -1.30pm.
